This is a master index to two University of Rochester alumni/ae record files.

The first is the General Catalogue of the University of Rochester, 1850-1928. This is the last biographical directory of University of Rochester graduates. It also contains biographical sketches of all non-graduates who attended for at least a year as well as lists of faculty, trustees, administrators, and non-alumni honorary degree recipients.

The second component of the index is the archival biographical folders of some of the alumni/ae (and non-graduates) who died before the mid-1960s. Permission to see a folder that the index identifies in this category must be obtained from the University Archivist.

At a future point, this master index will be enhanced by adding available pictures of early faculty and graduates.
