Notes (Publication Fund Series, Vols. 10-13.) (These four volumes are not really a comprehensive history of the city, but they do include articles on most relevant topics by the best available authorities. The best are Motley on Rochester milling, Turpin on Ebenezer Allan, Weller on city government, Fisher on public works, Price on the Protestant churches, Perkins on the University of Rochester, Zwierlein on the Catholic churches, and Foreman's chronology; the editor also offers introductions to each volume which reflect current notions of the civic and moral value of local history. Vol. 4 also includes articles on the Rochester Centennial celebration of 1934.)
