Scope and Content
Correspondence and subject files of the treasurer of the University of Rochester, Raymond L. Thompson. Files relate to various subjects, University divisions, organizations, and companies, for example: budgets; faculty and administration; the Report of the Treasurer; Memorial Art Gallery; Strong Memorial Hospital; Rochester Community Chest; the accounting firm of Naramore, Niles and Company; Finance Committee meetings; Board of Trustees meetings; the Rochester Alumni-Alumnae Review; the Lincoln Rochester Trust committee; and Rochester General and Electric. Also included are files for individuals, including President Alan Valentine, Treasurer Raymond L. Thompson, and his successor, Treasurer LaRoy Thompson.

Arrangement
Series 1 through 21 correspond to date ranges (in most cases, a year). Files from 1955/1956-1958/1959 are not distinctly separated by year and are included in a single series consisting of 20 boxes. Within each of these series, materials are organized alphabetically. The files for some individuals, including President Alan Valentine, are organized alphabetically among the rest of the files. In years 1947/1948, 1948/1949, 1949/1950, and 1950/1951, files for individuals in departments/offices and files for departments/offices are organized alphabetically among the Budget files. Cancelled checks from 1951-1954 are located at the end of the collection (Series 22).
