Department of Mathematics Papers contain correspondence and other files of Arthur Sullivan Gale, chairman of the Department of Mathematics and dean of the College for Men. Correspondence organized alphabetically by subject appears first, followed by chronological correspondence (1927-1943). Additional files relate to faculty candidates, committees, organizations, examinations, the department’s Stoddard Prize, and other subjects. Stoddard Prize material includes problems and students' answers, by year. The collection also contains some photographs.
