Biographical/Historical Note
The Richardson Corporation was started in Rochester by cousins Alick and Durbin Richardson in 1915. The company produced syrups, nuts, and crushed fruit for use in soda fountains and parlors as far afield as New York City. They were particularly well known for their Richie Root Beer syrup. The Richardson Corporation. was eventually purchased by Baldwin Ice Cream, founded in Chicago, and continues today as part of the expanded Baldwin Richardson Foods Company.
Scope and Content
The entire collection is comprised of nine black and white photographs of the Richardson Corporation, showing various stages of the industrial process of preparing, washing, cooking, packing, and shipping fruits and nuts. Industry workers and equipment are featured.
