Biographical/Historical note

Julius J. Loos (1898-1993) of Rochester, New York was a printer by profession and served as Secretary of the Rochester Typographical Union Number 15 from 1936 to 1959 and then as Deputy Industrial Commissioner in the New York State Department of Labor from 1959 to 1963.

Scope and Contents

The collection includes a 79-page typescript reminiscence, entitled "Gratification!" which recounts his work as Secretary of the Typographical Union, and various related drafts; a small amount of financial and personal correspondence; and several biographical newspaper articles.
