Biographical/Historical Note
William E. Werner, Rochester jurist, served as clerk of the Rochester Municipal Court, Monroe County judge, New York State Supreme Court judge, and judge of the Court of Appeals of New York. The papers include correspondence (chiefly carbon copies of letters from Werner to friends and associates), speeches, briefs, opinions, and scrapbooks of clippings covering his legal career.
