Biographical/Historical Note
Clarence King Moore was a member of the faculty at the University of Rochester from 1904 to 1943. In 1897 he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard, a Masters degree in 1898, and a Ph.D. in 1906. From 1904 to 1906 he was an assistant professor of Romance Languages at the University of Rochester, and a full professor from 1906 to 1943. Dr. King retired in 1943, and died on September 18, 1953.

Scope and Content
The Clarence King Moore papers consist of his correspondence (many of the letters were written by him and his wife, Rida S. Moore, during their European tour from 1910-1912), lecture notes, writings, diaries, and family papers.
