Scope and Contents
The collection includes letters from Justus W. Gale and his wife Philinda, of Perinton, Pittsford (1818-1819), and Brighton (1820-1832), to his sister, Betsy, and brother-in-law, William Sisson, of Lyons. N.Y. The letters concern financial and family matters.

The Gale-Sisson letters are open for research use. Researchers are advised to contact the Rare Books Special Collections & Preservation Department prior to visiting. Upon arrival, researchers will also be asked to fill out a registration form and provide photo identification.
