Biographical/Historical Note
Charles K. Eves was born in Rochester, New York. He graduated from the University of Rochester, Class of 1913 and taught for a time at Syracuse University and received his doctorate from Columbia University, where he taught before going to City College. While at Columbia he received a Cutting Fellowship and spent a year in England and France doing research for Matthew Prior. Dr. Eves was the author of a book entitled: Matthew Prior, Poet and Diplomatist. He died August 12, 1964 in the Veterans Adminstration Hospital in New York City.

The Charles Kenneth Eves Papers is comprised of correspondence and research relating to his book, Matthew Prior, Poet and Diplomatist. There are also some notes and research on other literary topics and authors.
