Scope and Content
The collection contains the typescript with manuscript additions and corrections of Louis Bromfield's novel The Rains Came, published in 1937 by Harper & Brothers. It consists of 335 leaves, plus 71 leaves entirely in manuscript and 77 additional typescript leaves.

Also in the collection is a February 27, 1950 letter from Bromfield to the Assistant Director of the University of Rochester Library Wilmer Baatz; and a letter from Bromfield to Edwin F. Edgett, June 7, n.y.
