Kenneth B. Keating (1900-1975) was a lawyer, congressman (Republican, 40th New York District) from 1947 to 1959, Senator from New York State from 1959 to 1965, associate justice of the New York Court of Appeals from 1966 to 1969, ambassador to India from 1969 to 1972, and ambassador to Israel from 1973 to 1975.

The collection contains correspondence, speeches, press releases, tapes, phonograph records, picture files, films, memorabilia, scrapbooks, and printed material.

The Kenneth Barnard Keating Papers is open for research use. Researchers are advised to contact the Rare Collections & Preservation Department prior to visiting. Materials are stored off-site and advance notice is required so that materials will be available in the reading room during your visit. Upon arrival, researchers will also be asked to fill out a registration form and provide photo identification.
