Letters to and from the Joseph Buell Ward family members and friends, chiefly personal in nature. Included are papers relating to the 117th Infantry of the New York State Militia from 1821-1825, an act of Incorporation of the Village of Rochester, 1826, a report to the New York State Senate on the progress of the Erie Canal, 1850, and an inventory of the estate of Mrs Balhaah Griswold. 1736. Also in the collection are certificates of appointment, family financial papers, bills, statements, wills, deeds, indentures, diaries, account books, college compositions and orations.
