Carl R. Traver photographic portfolio of architectural projects
Biographical / Historical note
Carl R. Traver was born in Rochester in 1890 and was a charter member of the Rochester Society of Architects. Between 1909 and 1917 he worked as a draftsman and delineator for the architectural firms of Gordon and Madden, and Hutchison and Cutler. He entered professional practice as an architect in 1919, and was associated with the firms of Gordon and Kaelber, and John Pike and Son. In addition to the buildings which are depicted in this portfolio, Traver also designed buildings for the Gleason Works, the Castle Wilmot Company, the Graflex Company and the Ritter Clark Memorial at RIT.
Scope and Contents
The portfolio contains both photographs and reproductions of renderings designed by Traver.

The Carl R. Traver Photographic Portfolio of Architectural Projects is open for research use. Researchers are advised to contact the Rare Books, Special Collections & Preservation Department prior to visiting. Upon arrival, researchers will also be asked to fill out a registration form and provide photo identification.

In consultation with a curator, reproductions may be made upon request. Permission to publish materials from the collection must be requested from a curator. Researchers are responsible for determining any copyright questions.
