Preservation Program: Student Employment Opportunities

The Conservation Lab employs one Preservation Assistant for 10 hours/week during the Fall and Spring semesters and 20 hours/week during the Summer semester. After specialized training onsite, the Preservation Assistant works independently to construct protective enclosures and execute other book repair techniques. 

The position requires attention to detail, excellent manual dexterity, prolonged concentration, and the ability to apply a broad range of learned techniques to varied and sometimes complex work assignments. The use of specialized tools and some machine operation may be required in addition to other duties.
