Biographical/Historical note

The Science Club was a student organization founded in the late 1800s. They held weekly meetings with topic such as "The Minerals of Monroe County" and "The Science of Brickmaking." The 1906 San Francisco earthquake prompted a lecture by Professor Fairchild on the iruptions of the earth.

Upon the admission of women to the University in 1900, the Science Club began accepting female students as well.

Scope and Contents note

The Science Club Papers consist of meeting minutes and treasurer's records.
