Mrs. Willis (Phebe Post Willis), a sister of Isaac Post, was active in the women's rights movement.
Scope and Contents
The collection inclues correspondence and family records of the Henry Willis family of Rochester. The collection contains an autograph copy of the minutes of the Woman's Rights Convention held in Rochester, August 2, 1848. Of special interest are the letters of Lucretia and James Mott, Frederick Douglass, and William Lloyd Garrison.
General correspondence folders, 1808-1870, include a receipt signed by William Lloyd Garrison, a letter signed by Frederick Douglass, and 18 letters from Lucretia and James Mott, all of which have been indexed.
