Georgiana Farr Sibley papers
Biographical / Historical note
Georgiana (Farr) Sibley was born in West Orange, New Jersey on May 30, 1887 and died in Sharon, Connecticut on June 10, 1980. She married F. Harper Sibley (1885-1959) in 1908 and moved to Rochester, New York in 1912, living in the Sibley home at 400 East Avenue from then until 1976. The mother of six children, she was very active in community affairs, especially church work, and in the latter cause served in several national offices during her lifetime.
Scope and Contents
This collection of papers, mostly from 1935 and 1936, reflects both her personal life and her civic life.

The Georgiana Farr Sibley Papers is open for research use. Researchers are advised to contact the Rare Books, Special Collections & Preservation Department prior to visiting. Upon arrival, researchers will also be asked to fill out a registration form and provide photo identification.

In consultation with a curator, reproductions may be made upon request. Permission to publish materials from the collection must be requested from a curator. Researchers are responsible for determining any copyright questions.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
The collection was received from Georgiana (Farr) Sibley in 1976 as part of a larger gift of Sibley Family Papers. The rest of the gift was processed as collection D.81, Sibley (Hiram) Family Papers. The Harper Sibley scrapbook was purchased in 2002 on the Allyn Fund.
