 Collection
Identifier: UA197

Biographical/Historical note

Marc Hoberman (d. 2007) was a member of the Class of 1970 who remained connected to the University of Rochester for the rest of his life. He was involved with the planning for Wilson Commons as a student and worked for the Conference and Events Office after he graduated. Beginning in the mid-1970s, he was active in the local alumni associations of both Miami and Washington, D.C., where he was in charge of White House tours during the Clinton administration. Hoberman was also a generous donor who participated in several fundraising phonathons, the Alumni Admissions group, the Volunteer Admissions Group, UR Involved, several trustee councils, and the Alumni Board of Directors.

Scope and Contents note

The three boxes designated as the Marc Hoberman Collection contain documentation associated with his academic work as a student, his post-graduate job with the University, and participation in various University-related groups and events. There is also a wealth of information from both the Miami and Washington, D.C. alumni groups from the late 1970s through the early 2000s, including newsletters, meeting minutes, invitations, fliers, and more correspondence. The collection is a veritable narrative of one alum's lifelong involvement with his alma mater.
