Biographical / Historical note

Thomas Pepper was a carpenter in Granger, N.Y. Pepper died March 10, 1869; his wife, Eliza, died October 27, 1878. Both are buried at Short Track Cemetery, Granger, Allegany County, N.Y.

Scope and Contents

The bulk of the Thomas Pepper Papers pertains to financial affairs; receipts, deeds, account, books, a daybook, and an insurance policy are in the collection. Also included are correspondence, medicinal remedies and a plan for a school building.

The Thomas Pepper Papers is open for research use. Researchers are advised to contact the Rare Books, Special Collections & Preservation Department prior to visiting. Upon arrival, researchers will also be asked to fill out a registration form and provide photo identification.
